All you need do is type in something like #edrecovery and you come to realise there is so much content that can be harmful for folks working day in-day out to recover from all types of eating disorders or disordered eating. Very quickly though, we find ourselves triggered and realising that the content creator has a very different idea of what ‘recovery’ is. Often we are drawn in by some of the initial content and perhaps even begin to feel support and a sense of community. Anyone can become an influencer or create a podcast and, unfortunately, nothing is regulated. Trawling through any form of social media for recovery oriented can be a bit of a minefield these days.
